Type locality. Austria (“Habitat in Austria Mus. Dom. Schieffermyller”).

Material examined. None.

Identity. Periclepsis cinctana (Denis and Schiffermüller, 1775) ( Tortricinae, Archipini).

Remarks. It is uncertain exactly what Fabricius’ intention was with respect to this taxon, similar to ceretana (see above). The name may have been an emmendation or an incorrect spelling of “ Phalaena cretaria ” (Denis and Schiffermüller, 1775: 129.3). There is, however, no cretaria D. and S. there, only Tortrix cinctana Denis and Schiffermüller.
