Lectotype (Cope in Cafferty & al. in Taxon 49: 247. 2000): Herb. Linn. No. 97.17 (LINN) .

Current name: Ammophila arenaria (L.) Link subsp. arenaria ( Poaceae).

Note: Although Kerguélen (in Lejeunia, n.s., 75: 80. 1975) stated “Type:...LINN”, this is not accepted as a formal typification, for the reasons explained by Cafferty & al. (in Taxon 49: 240. 2000). Meikle (Fl. Cyprus: 1789. 1985) indicated unspecified material at LINN as type but did not distinguish between the two sheets present there, which are not a single gathering (Art. 9.15).
