Distribution in South America: Brazil, Republic of Paraguay.

Bibliographic sources: Known life stages and relevant references in Pecor et al. (1992). The species was redescribed by Forattini & Sallum (1989b) and included in the Revision of the Spissipes Section by Sallum & Forattini (1996) with notes on bionomics. Later on Sallum et al.
