57. Notylia peruviana (Schltr.) Schweinfurth (1946: 205) .

Dipteranthus peruvianus Schlechter (1916: 187) .

Type: — PERU. s. loc., ex hort., May 1912, Sander & Sons s.n. (lectotype, designated by Oliveira et al. – in press: original illustration published in the protologue by Schlechter 1916: 189, t. 44, Figure 8–16).

Notes: — Schlechter (1916) described N. peruviana originally in the genus Dipteranthus without informing the holotype and the herbarium where the deposit occurred in the protologue. Schweinfurth (1946) transferred it to Notylia . It is believed that the holotype was destroyed in the bombing during the Second World War (Butzin 1978, 1980). Oliveira et al. (in press) designated a lectotype and elucidate the taxonomic identity of the species and its relationships with the complex Notylia platyglossa Schlechter.
