Type:— BRAZIL. São Paulo: [São Paulo], Vila Ema, ex hort., leg. 1941, fl. cult., [sic] December–January, [recte] 6 February 1943, A.C. Brade 18036 (holotype: RB 47622!).

Notes: —Brade (1946) described N. trullulifera species based on a specimen collected and cultivated in Jardim Botânico do Rio de Janeiro. When describing the species, the author cited the RB herbarium in the protologue as the place of deposit, which is where the material was examined and is still preserved.
