Type:— COLOMBIA [“Columbia”]. Magdalena: Frio River, Cienaga de Santa Marta and foothills, June 1906, H. Pittier 1602 (lectotype, designated here: US 600039!).

Notes: — Schlechter (1913) he used Pittier’s 1602 sample to describe N. stenoglossa, but it is believed that the original material was destroyed in the B herbarium during World War II (Butzin 1978, 1980). A duplicate was located in the collection of the US herbarium it is designated here as a lectotype.
