Type:— TRINIDAD and TOBAGO. Trinidad: s. loc., ex hort., s.d., W.E. Broadway 2431 (not found). Neotype (designated here):— TRINIDAD and TOBAGO. Trinidad: s. loc., 27 March 1908, W.E. Broadway 7454 (AMES 10655!).

Notes: — Cogniaux (1910) also described N. nana without an indication of a holotype and the location of the deposit. In the collection of the AMES herbarium, a sample of N. nana was coleted by Broadway in Trinidad after what was used by Cogniaux to describe the species which is designated here as a neotype.
