Current name: Brachypodium pinnatum (L.) P. Beauv. ( Poaceae).

Note: Although Kerguélen (in Lejeunia, n.s., 75: 96. 1975) stated "Type: …LINN”, this is not accepted as a formal typification, for the reasons explained by Cafferty & al. (in Taxon 49: 240. 2000). Meikle (Fl. Cyprus 2: 1813. 1985) indicated "Type: …LINN!” without distinguishing between sheets 93.42 and 93.43. Heath (in Taxon 40: 94. 1991) argued that Schippmann & Jarvis’ type choice is invalid but the argument he used in support of this was refuted by Jarvis (in Taxon 41: 63-64. 1992).
