Genus Cleapa Walker, 1855: 981, 1036

The genus Cleapa was established by Francis Walker in 1855 from the type species Cleapa latifascia Walker, 1855 . The genus is characterized by moderately pectinated antennae which is rather longer than thorax; broad wings; forewings almost straight in front, hardly angular at tips, very slightly oblique along the exterior border, interior angle rounded (Walker 1855). Cleapa is globally represented by only two species C. latifascia Walker, 1855 (NW India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, SW China, Thailand, Vietnam, and Taiwan) and C. cleapa Schintlmeister, 2007 (Thailand) . The present study describes Cleapa ukhrulensis Irungbam & Schintlmeister, sp. nov. the third species of this genus.
