Discussion. This species was described from Tanzania (Vachal 1903) and later recorded from Zimbabwe by Pasteels (1965). The holotype has not been located. Pasteels (1965), who knew the subgenera very well, placed it in Creightonella . However, SAMC has two speciments that belong to Megachile (Eutricharaea) lydenburgiana, from Zimbabwe that were labeled as M. altera . The true identity of this species must await the discovery of the holotype.
