Type Locality: Australia, Northern Territory, Port Essington.

Vernacular Names: Northern Quoll.

Synonyms: Dasyurus exilis Thomas 1909; Dasyurus nesaeus Thomas 1926; Dasyurus predator Thomas 1926; Dasyurus quoll (Zimmermann 1783) .

Distribution: Australia: N Northern Territory, N and NE Queensland, and N Western Australia.

Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (nt). Common.

Discussion: Sometimes assigned to Satanellus . The original name Mustela quoll Zimmermann, 1783, was suppressed under Article 80 of the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature (International Commission on Zoological Nomenclature, 1999), now correctly Dasyurus hallucatus .
