Biology: The orange larvae develop singly in achenes of Tanacetum spp. and Tripleurospermum inodorum ( Asteraceae). Our records are from Tanacetum vulgare . The infected achenes are strongly swollen, but the capitulum as a whole shows no outward sign of damage. Bivoltine; pupation and hibernation in the gall.
Distribution: Widespread in Europe including Norway and Denmark. Western parts of Russia.
