(Figs 2 D–F)

Bulimus guerini Pfeiffer 1846: 40 . Type locality: “Neu Granada.” Lectotype BMNH 1975272 (Breure 1978). Dryptus guerini

(Pfeiffer); Richardson 1995: 200 (references).

Material.?, U.S. Colombia (Pilsbry 1895 [1895 –1896], on account of the H. Cuming collection); “ Colombia ” (Abbott 1989); “Neu Granada:” ZMB 65920 (paralectotypes), MCZ 222357; “ New Granada:” UMMZ 144476 (Ponsonby Colln). Venezuela, Pedregosa: UMMZ 144494 (Ponsonby Colln).

Remarks. Köhler (2007: 128, fig. 11) gave a figure of a paralectotype (ZMB 65920) that shows an atypically thin peristome for a species of this genus. The position of Pedregosa, Venezuela is uncertain. There are at least two Venezuelan towns called Pedregosa, one in Estado Mérida (69 m), and one in Estado Falcón (138 m). We cannot decide which locality is more likely without additional information. No precise locations are known for this species.
