Dineutus (Subgenus Spinosodineutes) Hatch, 1925
Discussion. Members of this subgenus are moderately small gyrinids with spinose projections on the posterior margins of the elytra, and occur across a range of habitats in New Guinea, from swampy lowlands to rocky upland mountain streams. Because the constituent species exhibit broad distributions within such zones and do not exhibit strong regional endemism, they are not informative in regard to the areas of freshwater endemism defined by Polhemus & Allen (2007)
