Material examined. Holotype ♂, BOLIVIA, Cochabamba, Villa Tunari, trop. for., 16º54'55''S 65º22'06''W, 6.X.2001, M[alaise] T[rap], H. Heider col. (CNCI).
Diagnosis. MALE (Fig. 1). Black. Mandible with five apical teeth (Fig. 2). Clypeus with subangulate median lobe. Antennal scrobe not carinate. Frons coriaceous. Vertex broadly slightly convex. Pronotal disc with anterior corner acute; anterior carina arched inward medially; median carina absent; lateral margin not carinate; posterior margin not followed by series of foveae. Scutellar pit subrounded. Mesopleuron with subtegular groove subtriangular; anterior fovea drop-shaped; upper fovea rounded; lower fovea with upper margin absent (Fig. 3). Genitalia (Figs 4, 5): paramere absent; cuspis divided into two arms, ventral arm cylindrical, as long as basiparamere in lateral view, dorsal arm 0.5 × as long as ventral arm; aedeagus wide and stout, short, only 0.64 × as long as genitalia length, without constricted between apical and basal halves; ventral margin projected downward as lamina; apodeme short. FEMALE unknown.
Distribution. Bolivia.
Remarks. The absence of paramere is a very unusual character of this species. The aedeagus is wide and short as most of species of Epyris Westwood.
