Anthomyia Meigen, 1803
The genus is widely distributed. Most species occur in the Palearctic Region, but some can be found also in the Nearctic, Neotropical, Afrotropical, Oriental and Australian Regions (Ackland 2001). This is the largest anthomyiid genus in the Neotropical Region with 16 species described (Albuquerque 1958; Albuquerque 1959; Pont 1974).
