Type Locality: "Valley of Alyk-nor." Restricted by Formosov (in A. T. Smith et al., 1990) to Alang-nor Lake, NE Qinghai, China (35E35'N, 97E25'E); see also Corbet (1978 c) .

Vernacular Names: Thomas's Pika.

Synonyms: Ochotona (Ochotona) ciliana Bannikov 1940 .

Distribution: NE Qinghai, Gansu, and Sichuan (China).

Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (nt).

Discussion: Subgenus Ochotona . Widely sympatric with the similar O. cansus .
