Tenodera costalis (Blanchard, 1853)
Common in New Guinea and throughout the Pacific and recorded in Australia by Beier (1935). I have been unable to locate Beier’s specimens, but this species is extremely similar to T. australasiae and it is highly likely that his specimens were T. australasiae instead. Collecting in the Torres Strait, the most likely location of any true Australian T. costalis, has failed to turn up any specimens (D. Funnell pers. comm.), and thus it is here removed from the Australian list.
