Celtis scotellioides Chevalier (1917: 299) .
Type: — AFRICA. Ivory Coast, Haute Sassandra, “pays des Dyolas, entre Dropleu et Zoanlé, vers 600 m. d’altitude”, 5 May 1909, fr., A.J.B. Chevalier 21459 (lectotype, designated here, P barcode 00253683!; isolectotypes K barcode 000243030!, P barcode 00253684!, P barcode 00253685!) .
Nomenclatural notes: —When describing C. scotellioides, Chevalier (1917) cited his collection 21459, but did not specify the herbarium in which specimens were conserved. Since the gathering is comprised of multiple sheets in two herbaria, we designate the specimen at Herb. P with barcode 00253683 as lectotype (ICN Art. 9.3), because this specimen has more leaves and fruits than the other specimens.
Taxonomic notes: —Synonym of C. prantlii (Sattarian et al. 2006) .
