Cincta Group
The cincta group is equivalent to the subgenus Sebessia (Dominiak 2012) . Both sexes are readily distinguished from other species groups/subgenera of Dasyhelea by their narrow elliptical frontal sclerite that often have lower marginal ear-like lobes. Males further differ from other groups/subgenera by the combination of the unique hyaline envelope that overlies their aedeagi and symmetrical gonocoxal apodemes and paramere. Females further differ from species in other groups/subgenera by their two well developed spermathecae that usually have hyaline surface punctations plus a 3rd small rudimentary spermatheca. Dominiak (2012) suggested that species in the Neotropical patagonica group proposed by Díaz et al. (2010), also likely belong to the subgenus Sebessia, which also includes the holosericea group, because the male aedeagus of that species lacks a hyaline envelope and the female has two spermathecae.
