Previous records in the Hauts Plateaux and coastal area. C. sanhadjaensis was recorded for the first time in ponds of Ain Magroun (western Numidia) (Boumendjel et al. 2018), Ain-Magroun, Boudouaou (Skikda) (Boumendjel 2019; Boumendjel et al. 2023).
Comments. This endemic species was recently discovered and documented in northeastern Algeria, where a prevailing subhumid and humid climate exists.
