Recorded at Boumia, Chott Tinsilt, Grande Sebkha of Oran, and Es-Senia lake (Blanchard & Richard 1890), Oran (Daday 1910), Es-Senia lake, Baniou, and Mécheria (Gauthier 1928b), Boumia and Tinsilt (Samraoui et al. 2006), Dayet Morsli (De Los Ríos-Escalante & Amarouayache 2016), Garaet Tarf, Chott Tinsilt, Sebkhet Djendli, Sebkhet Ouled Lembarek (Rais & Amarouayache 2018), and Garaet Tarf, Garaet Ank Djmel, Garaet Guellif, Chott Tinsilt, Sebkhet Djendli, Sebkhet Ouled Lembarek (Ouahioune Rais 2019).

Comments. The species was recorded near Oran under the name Branchinectella salina (Daday, 1910) . B. media occurs only in semi-arid coastal regions and in the steppe zone of the Hauts Plateaux, as shown by its distribution in Algeria and its only record in Tunisia (Marrone et al. 2016).
