Genus Apodynerus Giordani Soika, 1993

Apodynerus Giordani Soika 1993d: 155 . Type species Odynerus troglodytes de Saussure, 1856, by original designation. Apodynerus Gusenleitner 1988: 180, used as generic name in the combination “ Apodynerus t. troglodytes (de Saussure, 1856) ”. Unavailable name according to Article 13.1.1 of the Code (ICZN 1999).

Diagnosis. Mandibles longer than length of clypeus, distinctly cross each other. Clypeus as long as wide, usually emarginate apically. Cephalic foveae absent. Vertex not sloping behind ocelli. Thorax globular, longer than wide. Pronotum with carinae often well developed, sometimes not developed dorsally. Anterior face of pronotum with median series of transverse striae (Fig. 23). Epicnemial carina present. Pretegular carina well developed. Tegula longer than wide, emarginate posteriorly adjoining parategula, reaches posterior end of parategula. Axillary fossa wide. Metanotum angled, with little dorsal surface. Propodeum below plane of metanotum. Propodeal orifice wide dorsally. Submarginal carina produced as pointed process above valvula, submarginal carina and valvula free posteriorly. T1 subsessile, funnel-shaped, in dorsal view much narrower than T2, without transverse carina, wider apically than basally (Fig. 85). T2 2 × larger than previous one, swollen at sides, free of apical lamella. Mid tibia with one spur. SMC2 basally acute. Prestigma equals to half length of pterostigma. Ƌ: F11 hook like; F10, F11 shorter than previous ones. Body length usually less than 10 mm.
