Chlaenius (Callistochrous) baxii (Gory, 1833)
= Callistomimus garouaensis Kirschenhofer, 2008: 90 syn. nov.
From the original description of Callistomimus garouaensis, is clearly evident that this taxon was wrongly attributed by Kirschenhofer (2008) to the genus Callistomimus Chaudoir, 1872, and it is conspecific with Chlaenius (Callistochrous) baxii, species widely distributed in West Africa (Burkina Faso, Mali, Mauritania, Senegal) and very variable in its elytral pattern. Here is recorded for Cameroon for the first time.
