Type data: This species was described based on six males collected by C. Burgdorf in San Carlos, Costa Rica. Vivallo (2019) designated the lectotype which is housed, along with a paralectotype in the HNHM . The specimens have the following data label: Costa-Rica Schild. [printed] (HNHM).

Type locality: Costa Rica: Alajuela department: San Carlos .
