Centris maerens var. unicincta Friese, 1924: 21 .

Type data: Friese (1914) proposed this variety using a single male collected in Pará state, northern Brazil. According to Moure et al. (2007) the holotype is housed at ZMB but unfortunately it was not found in that collection. Its current condition and depository are unknown .
