Type data: This species was described based on a single male collected in an undetermined locality in Bolivia. The holotype is currently housed at ZMB and bears the following labels: Bolivia [handwritten]\ Centris flavohirta n. sp. ♂ [handwritten] det Friese 1898 [printed]\ Zool. Mus. Berlin [printed with blue ink]\ [red label] Type [printed]\ Coll. Friese [printed]\ C. (Paracentris) flavohirta Friese, 1899 [handwritten with blue ink] (ZMB).
Type locality: Bolivia .
Comments: The type locality cannot be further narrowed down than to Bolivia. The male is easily recognized by the yellowish long pubescence covering the entire body. The female has reddish brown to orange distal segments and fimbriae .
