Gonatopus viraktamathi Olmi 1987c: 62; Guglielmino & Olmi 1997: 231.

Description of female. Apterous; length 5.0 mm. Head black, except mandible, clypeus and anterior margin of face testaceous; antenna black, except segments 1–3 testaceous; mesosoma and metasoma black; legs black, except tarsi and fore trochanters testaceous. Antenna clavate; antennal segments in following proportions: 14:7:28:19:17:15:13:12:11:14. Head excavated, shiny, unsculptured, except numerous longitudinal keels on face, vertex and occiput; occipital carina absent; POL = 2.5; OL = 3.5; OOL = 12; temple distinct. Palpal formula 6/3. Pronotum shiny, smooth, punctate, unsculptured among punctures, with longitudinal keels on lateral regions, crossed by strong transverse impression. Scutum sculptured by many longitudinal keels, laterally with two pointed apophyses situated near scutellum. Metanotum rugose. Metathorax + propodeum shiny, with anterior surface unsculptured and posterior surface transversely striate. Mesopleuron and metapleuron transversely striate. Mesometapleural suture obsolete. Fore tarsal segments in following proportions: 23:5:7:19:33. Enlarged claw (Plate 132C) without teeth, with four peg-like hairs + one hair. Segment 5 of protarsus (Plate 132C) with inner margin proximally serrated, with one row of ten lamellae; distal apex with about 16 lamellae. Tibial spurs 1/0/1.

Male. Unknown.

Material examined. Type: holotype ♀: INDIA: Karnataka, Raichur, reared from Hecalus sp ., dryinid adult emergence 26.X.1983, Shashidhar leg. (DEBI) .

Hosts. Cicadellidae (Guglielmino & Olmi, 1997): in India: Hecalus sp. (Olmi, 1987c) .
