Neotype (designated by Iamonico & Del Pino 2016: 338):— VENEZUELA. Crescit in ripa Orinaoci prope nobilem cataractam Maypurensium, sine die, Bonpland s.n. (P00136008!, image of the neotype available at http://science.mnhn.fr/institution/mnhn/ collection/p/item/p00136008).

Alien status:― Neophyte, native to South America (Iamonico & Sánchez Del Pino 2016: 338); naturalized in Saudi Arabia (see also Chaudhary 1998).

Occurrence in Saudi Arabia:― Al-Baha (Aljieddani et al. 2021), ʿAsīr (Al-Namazi et al. 2022), Jazan, Makkah (Al-Eisawi & Al-Ruzayza 2015).
