Genus BODENHEIMERA Bodenheimer
Bodenheimera Bodenheimer, 1935: 251 . Type species: Lecanium racheli Bodenheimer by monotypy.
Diagnostic characters of the adult female: In life, adult female broadly oval, flat. Dorsum with two broad brownish red stripes running from about eyes to anal plates. Pieces of white wax scattered over dorsum. Slide-mounted, body with large bilocular figure-of-eight pores on dorsum. Stigmatic clefts lacking; marginal setae spinose and extending up margins of anal cleft; stigmatic setae not differentiated from marginal setae. Legs each without a tibio-tarsal articulatory sclerosis. Anal cleft shallow and quite wide. Anal plates each with a sharply spinose discal seta, and spinose setae present on inner margin.
Comments: Bodenheimera is a monotypic genus; the type species, described from Israel, also occurs in Iran (GarcĂa Morales et al. 2016).
