COMMENT: Includes spadix; see Kirsch and Calaby, 1977:21; Lidicker and Ziegler, 1968, Univ. Calif., Publ. Zool., 87:23. Collins, 1973, regarded this species as a subspecies of the earlier named matschiei; but see also Ganslosser, 1980, Zool. Anz., 205:43-66.
