Casignetus lindei (Boileau, 1899)
Larvae description (Figs. 87–99). Body. Larvae ♀, total length 26.69 mm. Head. Cephalic capsule (Fig. 12) with 5.7 mm from apex of mandibles to posterior margin, 5 mm of wide; each side with 2 lateroepicranial setae; 3 externofrontal setae on right side, and 2 on left side. Base of clypeus (Figs. 15, 87) just over twice (2 ¼) the length. Posterolabral seta located on right side. Corypha (Figs. 18, 88) with six setae, haptomerum with 11 sensillae, acroparia with 6 setae, achantoparia with 8 setae in each side; right chaetoparia with 49 setae, left chaetoparia with 34 setae, protophoba with 3 setae and 15 sensillae. Uncus of galea (Figs. 39, 89–90) surrounded dorsally by 10 long setae; galea with a row of 13 long inner setae on ventral margin; lacinia with 46 setae on inner lateral margin. Hypopharynx (Figs. 38, 95–96) with 66 setae. Labium (Figs. 37, 97) with 3 posterior lateral setae on each side. Legs. Posterior face of mesocoxa (Figs. 42, 98) weakly excavated. Pars stridens (Figs. 42, 98) with 51 teeth, and a grainy posteriorly, main row with 36 teeth, and one adjacent row with 3 slightly apparent proximal teeth, proximal extremity comprising 5 similar teeth arranged irregularly; distal extremity with 2 divergent rows of 3 and 4 teeth. Plectrum (Figs. 45, 99) with 40 teeth. Posterodistal extremity of metatrochanter forming an angle of approximately 35°. Abdomen. Raster (Fig. 48) with 290 short setae. Anal lobes (Fig. 51) with glabrous central area, and 5 short setae on anterior margin of each lobe.
Material. 2 larvae and 1 larval exuviae (1♀ and 1 of undefined sex and instar, Ponta Grossa, Paraná, Brazil— CERPE) .
Remarks. Casignetus lindei can be found in the southern region in Paraná and Santa Catarina states, and in the southeastern region in the State of Rio de Janeiro. Although Lüderwaldt (1935) listed specimens from São Paulo and Espírito Santo, we have not examined specimens from these states.
