Insolitana carinata sp. nov.

Type locality. near Quincemil, Cusco Department, Peru .

Measurements (mm). Total length of holotype, 8.0.

Color. Head and thorax (Figs 42, 43) dark-brown to black. Face (Fig. 25) dark-brown with pair of yellow spots near base of lora. Mesonotum (Fig. 24) with pair of small yellow maculae near mid-length of lateral margins. Forewing (Fig. 27) opaque, dark-brown with several small hyaline fenestrae between veins and large one on costal margin near wing apex. Legs (Fig. 43) yellowish-brown.

Description. External morphological characters as in generic description.

Male terminalia. Sternite VIII (Fig. 29) rectangular; longer than wide; lateral margins slightly convex; posterolateral angles rounded, posterior margin slightly sinuate with small median emargination. Valve (Fig. 30), in ventral view, subtriangular; 1.9 times longer than wide; integument thickening present only on anterior margin; posterior margin produced and emarginated. Pygofer (Fig. 31), in lateral view, about 2.2 times longer than maximum height; dorsal margin convex; ventral margin strongly convex near base and concave subapically; macrosetae grouped near dorsal margin subapically; with robust and unciform inner processes, directed ventrally, in dorsal view (Fig. 32), with apex rounded; apex tapered, subacute. Subgenital plate, in lateral view (Fig. 31), not produced posteriorly as far as pygofer apex; in ventral view (Fig. 33), 2.6 times longer than wide, wider at midlength, with small setae on external margin; external margin expanded laterally; internal margin straight; apex tapered and subacute. Connective (Fig. 34) small, Y-shaped; stalk longer than wide; about one-quarter of style length. Style, in dorsal view (Fig. 34), with outer lobe reduced; in lateral view (Fig. 35), L-shaped, with blade elongate; ventral margin smooth, wider preapically, with short and robust preapical tooth, directed anterad; dorsal margin excavated preapically; apex emarginated. Aedeagus (Figs 36, 37) with preatrium reduced; dorsal apodeme not produced laterally, with pair of processes parallel to shaft, extending beyond shaft apex, each process with ventral margin with prominent rounded lobe and apex acute; shaft elongated and strongly curved dorsally; apex with two pairs of short apical processes, one pair directed dorsally and another ventrally.

Female unknown.

Etymology. The new species epithet carinata is derived from the Latin word “ carina ”, referring to the pair of conspicuous carinae on crown.
