Remarks. The species has a scattered distribution throughout Western and Central Africa (Basilewsky 1967, Lorenz 2021). Macrocheilus clasispilus is recorded for Senegal for the first time.
Male genitalia. A short description and drawings of median lobe in lateral and dorso-apical views were provided by Basilewsky (1967, Figs. 2b, 3b).
Female genitalia (Fig. 8d). Gonocoxite 1 subtriangular; gonocoxite 2 largely sickle shaped, apex sharp; dorsal surface concave, almost all covered with numerous setae, several setae inserted on an outer sub marginal longitudinal rib, subapical inner margin with two setae; ventral surface convex, smooth.
Distribution. Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Guinea, Republic of Ivory Coast, Republic of Rwanda, Senegal.
