Heardaxius salvati (Ngoc-Ho, 2005)

Mictaxius salvati Ngoc-Ho, 2005: 66 –68, figs 10, 11. Heardaxius salvati .— Sakai 2011: 533 –534.

Remarks. Ngoc-Ho (2005) included provisionally among the material examined for her description of M. salvati a male and female of two small incomplete specimens from Moorea, French Polynesia (MNHN Th1302). These were described as ‘cf. Mictaxius sp. 1’ by Poore (1997: 408–410, figs 33H–J). The same individuals and species name were listed as ‘ Thomassinia sp. 1 (Poore, 1997)’ by Sakai (2011: 537) on the basis of the linea thalassinica being incomplete. Besides being gonochoristic (a male and female were reported), the incomplete linea thalassinica, eyestalk, uropodal exopod and telson differ from the type of H. salvati . The uropod certainly excludes them from Thomassinia .
