Type locality. Panama.

Records from Vietnam. Kon Tum (Kon Tum); Gia Lai (Pleiku); Dak Lak (Ban Me Thuot; Cu M'gar); Dak Nong (Gia Nghia); Lam Dong (Don Duong; Duc Trong; Da Lat); Binh Thuan (Duc Linh; Tuy Phong) (Thai 2000b).

Distribution. Guinea, Liberia, Nigeria, Cameroons, Congo, Panama, Sri Lanka, Philippines, Costa Rica, Venezuela, and Bahamas (Gates 1972; Blakemore 2002).

Vietnamese name. Giun sợi panama.

Remarks. The species probably originates from tropical region of Africa (Gates 1972). In Vietnam, it has been found only in wet soils in hilly areas of the southcentral part and highlands of Vietnam (Thai 2000b).
