Type locality. Vietnam (Nghe An: Ky Son).

Type material. SORC, Vietnam.

Examined material. 1 C (SORC-HV.085) Ta Ca, Ky Son, Nghe An, 1/1/1986; 3 C (SORC-PV.085.02) same locality, but 15/6/1985; 12 C and 3 A (CTU-EW.073.01) Hoa Son, Ky Son, Nghe An, 6/1985, all coll. Tran Ba Cu.

Records from Vietnam. Nghe An (Ky Son); Da Nang (Ba Na NP) (Thai & Tran 1986; Do 1994; Pham 2010).

Distribution. Laos (Samphon 1990).

Vietnamese name. Giun prava mường xén.

Remarks. The subspecies is different from M. prava prava in spermathecal pores located further from dorsal line, more post-clitellar setae (Thai & Tran 1986). Blakemore (2007a, 2008b) considered it as " species inquirenda ". Material was re-examined and presence of male copulatory pouches and hence placement of the species in Metaphire is confirmed here.
