Genus Pontoscolex Schmarda, 1861

Type species. Pontoscolex arenicola Schmarda, 1861 (= Lumbricus corethrurus Müller, 1856). Distribution. Neotropical regions, e.g. Surinam, Guyana, Guatemala (Gates 1972) except the cosmopolitan species Pontoscolex corethrurus .

Remarks. Only one species has been recorded in Vietnam.
