Vietnamese name. Giun cát bà.

Remarks. The species is similar to Amynthas leucocircus (Chen 1933) in having three pairs of spermathecal pores in intersegments 6/7/8/9, pre- and post-setal genital markings in vii and viii, spermathecal ampulla heartshaped, prostatic duct S-shaped, and accessory glands mushroom-shaped. However, it can be distinguished by the presence of copulatory pouches, the absence of genital markings in the male region, prostomium prolobous, and diverticula ducts strongly twisted (Thai & Le 1993). Blakemore (2007a) tentatively assigned the species to the genus Amynthas, as " species inquirenda ". Due to the presence of copulatory pouches, the species is better allocated to the genus Metaphire .
