USA: Georgia: Clarke Co.: three individuals from three sites. Caught in flight trap from 21 April – 19 May 2020.
Distribution.
Eastern North America, transcontinental in Canada.
Saproxylic habits.
Larvae develop within polypore fungi (e. g., the birch polypore ( Fomitopsis betulina (Bull.) B. K. Cui, M. L. Han and Y. C. Dai ( Fomitopsidaceae)), and adults occur in association with it as well (Brues 1927; Minch 1952); adults also occur on other fungi, including Daedalea confragosa Berk. ( Fomitopsidaceae), Cerrena unicolor (Bull.) Murrill ( Cerrenaceae), and Trametes versicolor (L.) Lloyd (Barron 1971).
