Myiomma vittata McAtee & Malloch, 1932: 69 (as new species); Schuh 1995: 15 (catalogue), 2002–2013 (online catalogue).
Diagnosis. Recognised by the pale yellow to brownish colouration, with dark punctures of varying degrees of intensity. Head reddish brown, with two pale yellow spots between eyes. Antennal segments fuscous, except the distal part of the second segment. Pronotum brown, with a complete yellowish band medially, two incomplete yellowish bands sub-laterally, and a narrow yellowish band along the hind margin. Scutellum with dark punctures of varying degrees of intensity. Scutellum with basal angles, a subapical transverse stripe, and the extreme apex yellowish. Base of each clavus and proximal two thirds of each corium yellowish; apical part of corium brown to dark brown; cuneus paler except at apex. Underside of thorax and abdomen reddish brown. Total length 3.25 mm (McAtee & Malloch 1932).
Type material examined. Holotype (³): SRI L anka (as Ceylon): Pattipola, 1902, 2000 metres, Biró leg. (ZMHF).
