DISTRIBUTION: Distrito Federal, Mexico, and W Puebla (Mexico), in three discontinuous areas on the slopes of Volcân Pelado, Tlaloc, Popocatépetl, and Ixtaccihuatl.

STATUS: CITES - Appendix I; U.S. ESA and IUCN - Endangered.

SYNONYMS: nelsoni Merriam, 1896.
