TYPE LOCALITY: "English Channel."

DISTRIBUTION: Temperate and tropical waters of the North Atlantic.

COMMENT: Aside from the type, and one specimen from Guinea-Bissau, it is known only from the western North Atlantic (JGM, DWR).

PROTECTED STATUS: CITES - Appendix II as Order Cetacea .
