Diagnosis. this species is separated from other in the group by the following combined characters: males pronotal disc with a central pair of tubercles on anterior portion; elytral striae and punctures strongly impressed (as in D. ingens and D. arnaudi); males cephalic horn or tubercle rounded apically (as D. bicuspis); genae borders divergentı posterior angle rounded; paramera lacking basal nor longitudinal excavations and sides of elytra subparallel in dorsal view (as in D. arnaudi).

Redescription. colour: blackı shiny. Head: fronto-clypealı genal and inter-ocular surfaces smooth. Gena borders not parallel. Cephalic carina conical with rounded apex. Pronotum: borders smoothı not serrated. Pronotal disc shinyı lacking punctures and delimited anteriorly by two central weak tubercles. Metasternum: sides and margins of anterior lobe covered by long hair. Anterior portion of anterior lobe glabrous. Setigerous punctures evenly spaced at sides. Elytra: sub-parallel. Striae deeply impressed having fine weakly impressed punctures spaced by one to three times their diameter. Interstriae convexı lacking microsculpture with very fine puncture (20 x). Abdomen: sides of each ventrite excavated. 1st ventrite with a single row of hair along anterior margin. Each side of ventrites 2 to 5 with groups of 1 – 5 ocelatte setigerous punctures. Puncture of each ventrite interrupted medially as well as groove along the posterior margin of sixth ventrite. Aedeagus (Figure 32 (b-d)). Dorsallyı paramere apexes roundedı convergent; longitudinal and basal excavations lacking; membranous portion taking more than 2/3 of dorsal surface. Laterallyı subtle declivity from basis towards apex. Ventrallyı subgenital plate widely emarginate at apex and rounded at basis.
Morphological variation. Male BL: 13 – 15 mmı PW: 7 – 9 mm. Female BL: 16 mmı PW: 6 mm and distinguished from males as follows: Head: dorsal surface striated. Clypeo-genal junction very obtuseı rounded. Cephalic carina absent forming at most a central weak knob. Pronotum: simply convex. Elytra: interstriae microsculpture chagrinated. Abdomen: sixth ventrite three times larger than fifthı pygidium swollenı lacking modifications at medial portion.
