General distribution. China (Hainan, Yunnan).
Remarks. Anthidiellum carinatum is similar to A. smithii (Ritsema), a small-bodied species widely distributed in Southeast Asia. Based on limited available material, A. carinatum appears to differ in: scutum interior to parapsidal line with punctation dense but not contiguous; axilla laterally not reaching tangent of lateral margin of scutum; and clypeus more densely, finely punctate, and posterior margin of gena not as strongly carinate posteriorly. The female specimen collected from Hainan (collected by Chang-Qing Li) has a lateral yellow maculation on T2 (Fig. 7 d), other characters are identical.
