Lectotype (Balslev, Fl. Neotropica 68: 128. 1996): Herb. Linn. No. 449.17 (LINN) .

Current name: Juncus nodosus L. ( Juncaceae).

Note: Fernald & Schubert (in Rhodora 50: 155. 1948) identified 449.16 (LINN) as J. scopioides Michx., and 449.17 (LINN) as J. nodosus . While not explicitly typifying the name, they indicated that its application should not be changed. Balslev’s indication of Kalm material in LINN as the type identifies 449.17 as the intended sheet.
