Helina novarae (Schiner, 1868)

Examined type material: Holotype of H. lobilamellata Emden, 1951 (a junior synonym of H. novarae) seen; in good condition. One male from South Africa (Cape Town) dissected and illustrated.
Diagnosis. Dorsocentrals 2+3; hind trochanter with a tuft of dense, black, curved setulae; wing with brown round clouds on crossvein r–m and on each extremity of crossvein dm–cu; costal spine long, longer than crossvein r–m.
Male terminalia. Sternite 5 square-shaped, the posterior membrane deep, and the lobes large and robust, each with 2-3 short, stout, spine-like setae; a few other fine setae on lobes and disc (Fig. 39); cercal plate and surstylus elongated and thin; surstylus longer than cercal plate, sinuous at tip (Figs 40–41); aedeagal complex with phallapodeme short and straight, distiphallus very short (Fig. 41).
Notes. In Emden (1951) the species appears as H. lobilamellata.
