Helina dorsalis (Stein, 1914)

Examined type material. Holotype lost (Pont 2013: 70). One male from Kenya (Aberdares, Mt. Kinangop) dissected and illustrated.
Diagnosis. Eye of male densely haired; scutum brownish-grey pollinose, with some orange areas, also on the pleura; dorsocentrals 1+3; lower anterior katepisternal well developed; fore tibia without anterodorsal seta; crossvein dm–cu strongly sigmoid with a dark round spot on each extremity; abdomen blue-grey with no marks; male terminalia large and projecting. A detailed description was given by Malloch (1921: 228).
Male terminalia. Sternite 5 triangular, wider than long, with short setae on disc and lobes; posterior incision deep; lobes robust and widely separated (Fig. 1); cercal plate cordiform with anterior incision deep; surstylus greatly elongated (Fig. 2); surstylus longer than cercal plate and with short setae (Fig. 3); aedeagal complex with epiphallus as long as postgonite; distiphallus membranous (Fig. 4).
Notes. The species was originally described from Kenya in the genus Mydaea Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830 and was placed by Emden (1951) in Helina, subgenus Euspilaria Malloch, 1921 .
