Fylgia Kirby, 1889

A monotypic genus (Kirby 1889; De Marmels 1989). Very small dragonfly with white eyes, black thorax and red abdomen (Fig. 96), found in shaded pools with leaf litter on bottom.

Gynothemis Calvert in Ris, 1909

Two species of this small genus of small dragonflies (Fig. 97) are found in Ecuador, one of which we have not identified yet. Some of the species now included in this genus had been placed in Macrothemis. The habitat is small forested pools containing leaf litter (Fleck 2004).
