PLATYSTICTIDAE Laidlaw, 1924

Platystictidae contains one species-rich genus in the New World. Adults remain perched with wings usually together in deep shade for most of the daylight hours, their flight activity apparently limited to very early morning. They require small forested streams in which to complete their life cycle.
